NFL CAREER

Amaya has spent time with a handful of teams during his five years in the National Football League (NFL). Three of those five years he was on an active 53 man roster with the Miami Dolphins and the New Orleans Saints. In 2014 he spent four weeks in Kansas City with the Kansas City Chiefs organization. Prior to that, in 2013 Amaya participated in all off-season training activities and preseason games with the Arizona Cardinals. In September 2012, Amaya returned to Miami for his second “swim” with the Phins where he appeared in 12 games on special teams and defense. Amaya joined the Saints in training camp of 2011 via a trade from the Dolphins that sent Reggie Bush to Miami. The three-year safety saw extensive action on special teams and also contributed on defense. The former University of Nevada standout appeared in all 16 contests in 2011 and registered nine special team tackles and a forced fumble in addition to ten tackles (five solo) on defense. The University of Nevada product spent time on the Dolphins practice squad in 2010 after being signed as a rookie free agent and was added to the team’s active roster at midseason. He contributed on special teams, leading the Dolphins with 15 tackles and one fumble recovery, while appearing in 10 games.

COLLEGIATE EXPERIENCE

Majoring in Speech Communication with a minor in Health Ecology, Jonathon was a four-year letterman at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he recorded 236 tackles, seven interceptions, and two forced fumbles in his career…Notched 89 tackles, eight passes defended, two forced fumbles, and an interception as a senior in 2009…Tied for team lead in tackles with 68 as a junior in 2008 while leading the team with four interceptions… suffered a knee injury early in the 2007 season but returned for the final four games of the year … totaled 40 tackles while playing in eight games…Played in 11 games with seven starts as a walk-on true freshman in 2006 and earned one of the team’s two Fireman Awards for stepping up in a time of need …Selected as Second Team All-Western Athletic Conference in 2009.

 

PERSONAL

A graduate of Diamond Bar High School in California, Jonathon was a four-year starter as a WR, DB and LB. He was named team’s defensive MVP as a junior with 75 solo tackles and 63 assists, which led the Sierra League. Also, a four year starter on the baseball team earning a draft selection in the later rounds of the 2006 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft (San Francisco Giants). Amaya has truly excelled in football and baseball, however, his experience extends in other sports as well. He found his football skill to be advantageous when he dabbled in rugby during the formation of the National Rugby Football League, which plans to bring professional rugby to America in the summer of 2017. His most recent passion has been boxing. He aspires to turn this passion into a professional opportunity in the near future. Meanwhile, as he remains steadfast on reaching his own athletic goals, he continues training athletes and people of all ages. Jonathon desires to see athletes and people grow physically and mentally in sport and life. This has made him one of the most sought after trainers in Southern California.

For the past ten years Coach Rhodes has been a sports performance trainer and personal trainer, working on all levels from youth to professional athletes. He had developed training programs to meet the individual needs of his clients, from cancer patients to professional athletes. He has helped athletes, athletic teams and organizations improve performance and reduce sports related injuries.


He has experience managing athletic programs, recruiting, and developing talent. He takes great pride in developing inexperienced youth and helping to develop them as student athletes and as people.


The founder of Sports Training Los Angeles, he has committed his life work to helping people reach their physical goals and objectives. Coach Rhodes attended Cal State Los Angeles University in 1996 and is a New York native with Florida-California family ties.


Coach Rhodes is a Football Coach, a Basketball Coach, a Baseball Trainer, a Softball Trainer, a Track and Field Speed Coach, a Soccer Trainer and a Expert Boxing Trainer.

Mike Koskoff – Michigan – Founder of Total Student Athletes and Author of “Win All Four. Mike Kostoff has coached football at the high school and college level for the past 17 years. His college experience includes coaching jobs at Adrian College and The University of Findlay. His recruiting experience has given him a solid understanding of the recruiting process especially at the DII and DIII levels. He has encountered a number of gifted and talent athletes lost, confused and unaware of the recruiting process. These athletes couldn’t get the opportunity to become a college athlete because they failed to understand recruiting is a four year process. Educationally, Mike graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a BS in psychology in 1992. After a few years as a Drug Counselor and Prevention Specialist, he returned to Eastern Michigan to pursue his teaching certificate. He spent six years as a high school teacher where he also coached basketball and track. In 2003, he accepted a position at The University of Findlay where he completed his Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership.
Trojan Mike is a member of the esteemed USC Football Alumni having played in 2 National Championships, 1 Orange Bowl and 2 Rose Bowls. As a pass rush specialist having worked with numerous student-athletes at the D-1 and Professional ranks, he also evaluates talent for Nike, ESPN and Sparq, considered to be one of the foremost authorities in football when it comes to developing top tier talent in lineman skill sets.
